At Trees for Life Canada we believe that children are the key to a greener future. However we are unable to reach children on our own; we need the help of teachers who share our values and interest in the environment.
By providing the "Grow-a-Tree" project to your school or class, you are making an investment in the future of your community, the future of the planet and in the future of your students. We believe that students who are knowledgeable about the environment will develop into responsible eco-citizens.
It is very easy to adapt "Grow-a-Tree" to fit any classroom environment. We provide suggestions for lessons and activities in our teacher's manuals, however teachers can use the project in their classroom in a way that suits their specific needs. In the past, teachers have run the "Grow-a-Tree" project over the course of a couple of weeks or even a couple of months. Many teachers even develop their own activities to further customize the "Grow-a-Tree" project for their class.
