Having fun with Trees For Life

Toronto Live Green Festival 2011

Trees for Life Canada made its second annual appearance at the Toronto Live Green Festival this weekend at Yonge and Dundas Square. Happily nestled in the TD Kids’ Zone, Tress for Life Canada ran several eco-themed activities for kids and adults alike!

The crowds were invited to take a break from the hot sun in the shade at our famous tree planting station beneath the Kids’ Zone canopy. Kids and adults filled their incredible biodegradable cartons with rich soil, planted honey locust seeds and spritzed with a little bit of water. Presto! Hundreds of Torontonians walked away with their own little trees to care for and nurture.

Others worked at our button making station, designing their own environmental slogans and messages to wear proudly around the festival and beyond.

Loads of kids and parents walked the ‘green’ carpet and had their pictures taken as today’s hottest environmental stars. They totally rocked it!! Check out all of the green carpet photos on Trees for Life Canada’s facebook page at facebook.com/Trees4LifeCanada .

Toronto, we love your spirit and enthusiasm and your pledges to care for and love your trees!

We’ll see you again next year at the Toronto Live Green Festival on Saturday July 21st, 2012, where green-theme is fun for the whole family!
