About Us
Bringing early environmental education to children around the world
Our history Established in 1991, International Cooperation of Children for Trees for Life Canada Inc. (TFL CANADA) is a provincially and federally registered non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to environmental education.

Our mission is to provide fun, engaging curriculum-based resources for teachers to help children love learning about life sciences, biodiversity and grow to understand the critical roles trees play in maintaining the ecological balance on our planet.

Our “Grow a Tree” program is delivered to schools complete with biodegradable cartons and regional tree seeds for each student to grow their own tree in class.

Our volunteers have distributed the acclaimed “Grow a Tree” program to hundreds of thousands of children across Canada. Our program has also taken root in China, Chile, India and Africa.

Curriculum based lessons in a click are available at thegrowatreeprogram.com for elementary teachers everywhere to save planning time and engage today’s students.

The World’s Coolest Forests is an adventure travel show that takes students around the world to explore fascinating forests and ecosystems. Available online as part of our grade 4, 5, & 6 lessons, the show integrates key concepts from the life sciences curriculum.

Our sponsors and schools make it all possible. To provide the Grow a Tree Program and lesson resources we rely on kind sponsors and schools alike. Thank you!

Together, we can plant the seeds for a greener tomorrow!

As a not for profit organization, Trees for Life Canada would not be able to support
teachers and students without generous contributions from kind sponsors.

Make a difference in the classroom by donating $1 per child to participate in the “Grow-a-Tree” program in your local school, region, city, province or across Canada.

Create a partnership that supports environmental education every year from September through June. Schools need support all year especially during spring, Earth month in April, Earth Day April 22nd and World Environment Day in June.

Enrich your environmental responsibility policy by funding environmental education. Sponsor new lessons annually or special episodes of “The World’s Coolest Forests” an educational adventure series that brings the world’s forests into the classroom.

Individual donations help too! Every donation helps kids learn about the environment and grow and take care of their very own tree in class. Consider a gift of $75 to support a classroom for a year, or support whole schools, or a gift of education in honor of someone special.
